“Service Above Self” is not just a slogan at the Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Club. This year the club awarded $29,000 to 13 local scholars.
Every year the club awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in our community. These young people are taking the first steps in pursuit of their dreams. They plan to be teachers, lawyers, engineers, accountants, mathematicians, artists, psychologists and players on the international stage.
Led by Sheila Franklin, president-elect for 2014-2015, the club will be keeping close contact with these scholars. Using social networks AND personal contact, the club will follow and support the progress of these young people. The plan is to do everything possible to see that those dreams are fulfilled.
