The Life as an NFL Referee

Walt Anderson started his career as a dentist.  Later in life, that career took an interesting turn (no offense to dentistry) - Walt became an NFL official in 1996.  He was promoted to referee prior to the 2003 season.  Walt has ref’d dozens of playoff games, plus Super Bowls, and the infamous “Deflate-gate Game”.

Walt also serves as the Coordinator of Football Officials for the Big 12 Conference.

He grew up in Channelview, where he played QB for the high school.  Walt was a two time Academic All American football player at Sam Houston State.
