Clark has twenty years experience making neighborhoods and business districts come to life. He brings stakeholders and public agencies together to make quality places. His transportation plans enhance and support parkway, highway and transit facilities as well as pedestrian and bicycle improvements. Clark is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners, the Urban Land Institute and he is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. With deepest sympathies to our friend and member Carter, Clark is not an Aggie. He went to Nebraska for his Bachelors Degree and to Virginia Tech for his Masters.
The All Club meeting is scheduled for January 12, and the President of Rotary International, "Ravi" Ravendran, will be our honored guest and speaker. RI President Ravi doesn't have time to visit every Rotary District in the world, but he is coming to ours! I couldn't find out how many Districts he does visit, but there are 34,000 Rotary Clubs around the world!
Our district has 63 clubs. When we all meet, we call it the All Club meeting, because it is the one time in the year when ALL the clubs in our District come together. There will also be an EXPO where each club will have a table to display their service projects and areas of involvement. I love going around and seeing what the other clubs are doing. Who wants to help with the exhibit?

It appears that District 5890 raised a total of almost $34,000 for Polio eradication between the Party at the Park/Bike Ride/Motorcycle Ride and the Polio Plus Society Dinner that same night. $7000 of that money came from the Motorcycle Ride that Chris & Ute Schneider (mostly Ute) created! That's what I love about Rotary. Somebody gets an idea, gets other people involved, and then the world changes!!!
Turn in your raffle money at our next meeting on the 4th of December. If I don't sell anymore tickets, I'll buy them myself. Who knows...maybe I'll win! When we became members of our club, we all agreed to raise (or donate) $500 for our annual scholarship fundraiser. Please check your status on the list. We will be drawing the winning raffle ticket at the meeting on December 11th.
You might want to bring some guests to the next meeting on December 4th. We have a VERY interesting speaker: Clark Martinson will be talking about the Energy Corridor District. Oftentimes during the day, I'll stop whatever I'm doing and notice what I'm thankful for in that particular moment. In THIS moment, I'm thankful to be a part of the community we call the Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Club. I'm thankful when one of you tells me I'm doing a good job. I'm thankful for the fun I have had this year as your president (riding on the back of Chris Schneider's motorcycle in the rain last Saturday!!!). I'm thankful for the special friends and good acquaintances I have made in Rotary. I'm thankful to be able to do some good on the planet. Thank you, all.
