Ladies of Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary started Monday morning shopping for Thanksgiving “Meal in a Bag” groceries. The grocery meals will go to families served by the East Spring Branch Food Pantry.
Memorial-Spring Branch Rotarians, led by Sheila Franklin, donated and assembled several tricycles for the Nabor House Community (NHC). NHC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps low-income families on a path out of poverty through affordable early childhood centers.
Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary had a booth at the MDUMC Pumpkin Fest where families enjoyed Trunk-or-Treat, carnival games, a pumpkin patch, live music and learned more about Rotary!
Chris Schneider (MSB Rotary), Ute Schneider (Space Center Rotary) and Rotarians from several District 5890 Clubs raised over $42,000 in this year's Ride to End Polio, in which the amount raised is triple matched by the Gates Foundation! This was Chris and Ute's finale in leading the Ride to End Polio.
WAIS Interact members came together and volunteered at the Houston Food Bank. We helped in sorting our oranges and even achieved great numbers. waisinteract
Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Club (MSBRC) members help raise funds for the Outreach Center of West Houston (OCWH). OCWH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides access to resources to communities and other nonprofit groups. Executive Director Jorge Quiñones is also a longtime Rotarian at MSBRC.
MSBRC President Genevieve and fellow Rotarians provided 500 dictionaries to third graders at Bunker Hill Elementary School as part of The Dictionary Project. Each student received a dictionary and a printed Rotary 4-Way Test bookmark to share with their parents and friends. The Dictionary Project provides students with a tool to help them with their reading and writing skills. The project is an example of the Club's community service to promote literacy and education.
