Today's meeting - Friday, July 10th - will be a Club Assembly.
The Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Club holds a club assembly at least four times a year (every quarter + as needed) for the members to discuss matters of concern with the club. Normally, the club assembly is not open to visitors, but this first assembly of the year will be an open meeting.
The agenda is:
To detail the goals and activities for 2015/16 as described in our Strategic Plan
To acquaint the members with the Committee Structure and Committee Chairs for the year.
Provide an opportunity for those members who are not already on a committee to select their committee for the year 2015/16.
As always, all members are invited to attend Club Board Meetings on the 3rd Friday of every month, after the club meeting.
This week is the culmination of the work we began in January at the Visioning Event. Many of the actions are already in motion and some of the goals have already been achieved. At this Club Assembly, the Committee Chairs will be sharing their plans and introducing their committees for the upcoming year. Those few members who have not yet selected a committee will have the opportunity to join a committee.

And now, from our most recent past president........
Sean Smith and his fiancee will be leaving at the end of the month for his year of research at Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile, studying micro-algae in wastewater, for simultaneous wastewater treatment and biodiesel production.
As his sponsoring Rotary Club, we would very much like to wish him well by joining him and his fiancee for dinner at Boca2 on Monday evening, July 13th, at 6:30pm. Boca2 Cafe and Tapas Bar is located at 7951 Katy Freeway, in the shopping center on the south side of Interstate 10, just West of Antoine.
Please let me (Sheila) know if you can join us, so I can be sure we have enough tables and chairs for all who are attending.
