This Friday we will be serving from 6:30-8:30 am to the families staying at Fisher House email me if you can volunteer this month. At Noon we will be hearing from a friend of the club, Marlise Skinner, about ShelterBox: Emergency Disaster Relief.

Saturday at 8:00 am we will kickoff the Motorcycle Ride to END POLIO NOW!  You can sponsor the ride here.  

Speaking of sponsors, we still need sponsors for the golf tournament in June. If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring at any level, please get in touch with Graham Dunlap ASAP.

Next week is the district conference. If you have sold any raffle tickets for the district raffle please give them to any club officer by April 30th. Also, you get one free entry to the raffle for every $25 that you have donated this year to the Rotary Foundation.  if you donated this year and didn't get your free raffle tickets please get in touch with me before the 30th.

ShelterBox Disaster Relief

As Rotary International's Project Partner in disaster relief, ShelterBox is uniquely positioned to share the impact of Rotary worldwide.  Shelter box provides emergency shelter and tools for displaced families affected by natural disasters or conflicts all over the world.

Marlise Skinner has been a Houstonian since 1988, a graduate from Texas Tech (Accounting) and University of Houston (EMBA). She has worked for various transportation companies with a focus on leadership and development of the financial department enabling growth both financially and operationally. Ms. Skinner began supporting ShelterBox USA in 2014 and joined the Board of Directors in 2017 where she is currently the Treasurer. Her favorite things to do during her free time include spending time with family, traveling and running. Her latest accomplishment – Completed her goal to run a marathon on all 7 continents.

  • Once you’ve signed in, you will see a box that suggests a charity. Under that option is an area that states “Or pick your own charitable organization:” with space for you to type in a custom entry. There, you will add “Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Charities, Inc.”. When you search for “Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Charities, Inc.,” you will be given a list of several similar options, so be sure to select the correct one.
  • After you have completed the steps above, you will receive an email confirming your selection.
