Dear Fellow Rotarians,
To all who attended our Potluck at Ed and Karen Wilson's on Saturday night, thanks for supporting your Rotary Club. It was a wonderful evening of fellowship and great food. We'll have another Potluck in October, so watch for the announcement.
This Friday, our program will be presented by Sami Khaleeq on the subject of "Rotary Young Professionals". The future of Rotary depends on our young members, and Young Professionals is an organization of Rotary and non-Rotary members who meet for networking at popular establishments meant to draw young men and women who are looking for ways of meeting quality peers. It has been very successful in attracting quality new members for Rotary. It's a great group and I am interested in hearing from Sami on what is happening.
On Saturday, August 23rd, I hope you will join me at the annual Back to School Health Fair at Spring Branch Family Development Center, 8575 Pitner, 77080, beginning at 8:00am. Please wear a Rotary shirt. We have a booth in the main auditorium. We have a very popular booth because we give out candy. To paraphrase the Blue Bell Ice Cream ad, "We eat all we can and give away the rest".
On Friday, August 29th, Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Club has the honor of having as our speaker, Dr. Renu Khator,

Chancellor of the University of Houston. She will be introduced by Andy Garg. I hope we have a full house at the meeting, and encourage you to invite your spouses and friends to attend. Dr. Khator has raised the academic presence of the University of Houston to a Tier 1 school within three years, and she is an inspiring speaker. Please let me know if you plan to attend and eat lunch so I can be sure the kitchen staff prepares the quantity of food we will need.
I look forward to seeing all of you this Friday.
