One of the joys of Rotary is celebrating a second New Year's Day party!
Gwen's Installation Party will be at the Willie G's located at 1605 North Post Oak Boulevard. Drinks will be served beginning at 5:30pm with dinner served at 6:30pm. Bring a spouse or friend and come enjoy an evening of toasting Sheila's wonderful year past and Gwen's year to come. The cost per person is $45.
There will be a wine drinking and decorating (in that order?) party at some point yet to be determined. Skol!
On Saturday, July 4th, the Memorial Villages are hosting the 23rd Annual Villages Independence Festival. The Festival includes a program which focuses on family, neighbors, and patriotism. The event is free to all.
The Festival begins with a parade at 9:00 a.m., from Memorial Church of Christ on Gaylord Drive to the Memorial Drive Baptist Church grounds at 325 North Piney Point Road (the site of the Festival). Parade participants may ride in their decorated cars, on bicycles or skates, or in wagons or you may enter a float. The parade is followed by games, food, and entertainment until 1:00 p.m. At that time, the Fire Department cools down the crowd with their traditional Fire Truck "spray."
As usual, we will have a booth at which we'll be cutting watermelons and giving pieces of them away. We'll have more details soon on where to park and when to arrive. This is a very fun event at which to volunteer. It's also a great opportunity to invite folks to hear the great speakers at our meetings.
Celebrate the new Rotary Year on June 26 with a wonderful installation gala at Safari Texas Ranch for incoming District Governor Dr. Nick Giannone, First Lady Fabiola Giannone, and your 2015-16 team of District officers! Arrive at 6:30 for fun fellowship at the Reception, which includes a tasty appetizer table and cash bar. 7:00 p.m. begins the delectable seated dinner, featuring Safari Salad, Beef and Chicken Marsala, with potatoes, mixed vegetables, rolls, tea, coffee, and two bottles of wine (1 white/1 red).As you top it all off with Chocolate Decadence Cake, the installation program will begin, which will be followed by dancing from 10:00 p.m. until you’re ready to call it a night.DO REGISTER NOW!
