Isis and her family moved to Houston from Venezuela after Isis had finished high school and she is
passionate about trying to help the refugees fleeing VZ.
A few years ago Rotary invited Isis to lead a team of six Rotarians to visit Uganda and identify a large
water project. Following that visit, Isis wrote a 115-page report to WASRAG which formed the basis of a
$301,000 Global Grant.
As a member of Engineers Without Borders Isis traveled to Kenya and developed a Rotary Global Grant
to provide water to the single hospital in Maseno.
Isis has a Chemical Engineering degree from UH and is a former Rotary Global Scholar to Sao Paulo. Last month she spoke at the General Session of the Rotary Convention in Toronto in front of 14,000 Rotarians.
