Our Own Eric Liu Completes the Houston Marathon!

Congratulations Eric. We are proud of you! The Houston Marathon, held on January 30, 2011 was seen by over 1 million television viewers, 200,000 spectators, and attracted 55,000 people over a two day period. District 5890 was a sponsor for the first time this year. This was a huge Public Relations/Image boost for Rotary International, and the District 5890 clubs. The Rotary wheel was in all the advertising materials and in all the signage throught the race. Rotary Club of Harrisburg was the sponsoring club for the event and did a superb job setting up the Rotary Hoopla Station at mile 6, in the Party Boy parking lot (Studemont @ I-10). Eric Liu completed the full marathon. PDG Ed Charlesworth, DGE Rhonda Walls-Kerby and Dennis Debakey, the other Rotarians in the race, completed the half marathon.
