MEMORIAL-SPRING BRANCH ROTARY CHARITIES
AWARDS TEN SCHOLARSHIPS

The Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary Charities has awarded ten scholarships, totaling $30,000, to 2014 graduating seniors from the five Spring Branch ISD high schools.
Receiving the Diane Jackson Scholarship, named after a long-time member of our club, and SBISD administrator, was Kaitlin Santibanez, a graduate of Memorial High School, who plans to attend Texas University, and major in Political Science, with eventual plans to attend law school and become an advocate for children’s rights.
Receiving the Bill Archer Family Scholarships, endowed to honor Bill Archer upon his retirement from Congress, were: Maria Alvarez, a graduate of Spring Woods High School, who plans to attend the University of Texas, and major in public relations; Sarahi Chan, a graduate of Northbrook High School, who plans to attend Texas A&M University, and major in architecture; and Jacqueline Silva, a graduate of Spring Woods High School, who plans to attend the University of Texas, and major in speech/language pathology, and become a speech therapist.
Receiving the Andrew Durham Scholarships, donated through the generosity of Andrew Durham, were: Gerardo Vazquez, a graduate of Westchester Academy for International Studies, who plans to attend Houston Community College, then the University of Houston, and major in kinesiology, with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer; Daune Patterson, a graduate of Westchester Academy for International Studies, who plans to attend the University of Houston, with an undecided major; and Andrea Sklar, a graduate of Stratford High School, who plans to attend Tulane University, and major in business.
Scholarships provided by Memorial-Spring Branch Charities, Inc. were awarded to: Zeriba Jahangir, a graduate of Stratford High School, who plans to attend the University of Texas, and major in biochemistry, with plans to become an oncologist; Andrew Lee, a graduate of Stratford High School, who plans to attend the University of Texas, and major in studio art, with plans to become an art director; and Hugo Rodriguez, a graduate of Westchester for International Studies, who plans to attend the University of Texas-San Antonio, with an undecided major.
