June 4th - Howard Goodall's oratorio "Every Purpose Under the Heaven"
The Chancel Choirs of St. Luke’s United Methodist and First Presbyterian Church will join with orchestra, soloists, and conductor Dr. John Yarrington to present Howard Goodall’s “Every Purpose Under the Heaven.” Club member Lindsey Kroll will be singing in the chorus.
Also known as “The King James Bible Oratorio,” the multi-movement work was commissioned to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible and was first performed on November 2011 in Westminster Abbey.
The performance is Sunday, June 4 at the Morris Cultural Arts Center on the campus of Houston Baptist University, 7502 Fondren Rd, Houston, 77074, at 7:30pm. Admission if free.
