District Governor Rhonda conducted her official visit to our club on August 12th. She was introduced by her close friend AG Jean Love. The Governor built her remarks around the theme of our making a difference in Rotary through our works and in doing good on multiple levels. She pointed out that the District was very pro-active in issuing district grants and had recently given 42 grants to district clubs including one to our club. She also indicated that we were obviously making a difference in Rotary through our work in polio because, for the first time, a month passed with no reported new cases. Governor Rhonda then listed multiple ways we can make a difference in the district, specifically through participation in Membership events, Public Relations meetings, Foundation Seminars, Vocational meetings, Social Media training and the Rotarians Helping Rotarians program. She also reminded us about the Rotary Night with the Astros as well as the District Conference at Horseshoe Bay from May 31st through June 2nd, 2012. She closed by giving Certificates of Excellence to several club members for their work within the club and district, including Ron Suchart, Donna Campbell, Eric Liu, Jack Clark, Tony Money, Miguel Ottaviano, Lawrence Barris and Bill Hall.
